Sports Illustrated Finally Finds West Virginia's Lauren

The Sports Illustrated Cheerleader of the Week feature has been to Morgantown before to highlight one of our favorite college cheerleaders ever (Krysta!), but now they are back to check in one another gorgeous Mountaineer.

Lauren has, unfortunately for all of us, graduated already and moving on from the West Virginia cheer squad, but at least we get one last chance to celebrate her as she rides off into the sunset!

See the rest of Lauren's feature here. Photo credit to Yeung Photography!

I Need to Start Golfing More

For some reason, the Mizzou Golden Girls never seem to show up any place in playing golf. Maybe that's because I'm horrible at golf and never get to play in fancy-pants charity golf tournaments.

Basically what this all comes down to the fact that I need to start playing more golf. But I don't really want to play golf unless the Golden Girls are going to be around. You see my conundrum, right?

Our Girl Emma Busts Out a Great Shot for Cheer Selfie Saturday

If Cheer Selfie Saturday isn't already your favorite day of the week, then this shot from our pal Emma should definitely push you over the edge. This soon-to-be sophomore University of South Florida SunDoll is basically the epitome of the Florida beach bunny.

As always the USF SunDolls deliver in the clutch!

The American University Dancers Signal the Return of FCS Friday

Our newest feature, FCS Friday, has been on a bit of a hiatus the past couple of months, but today marks its return. Honestly, it's not easy to track down FCS cheerleaders and dancers. And I may not have been searching as hard as I could either.

But none of that is the point. The real point today is that the American University dancers are here to re-introduce the feature and (hopefully) really get the ball rolling for the future. American is part of the Patriot League which is a part of the FCS. But since they don't have football, I'm not sure if they are really considered an FCS school or not. I'm counting them, though, so I guess that's all that really matters.

So let's all celebrate the AU dancers while we brain storm about who should be featured in next week FCS Friday post.

Rutgers Dancer Cassie is Going to Dance Beside Beyonce Some Day

One of the things I love the most about college cheerleaders and dancers is their incredible sense of self confidence. Sure some of that comes from just being 18-22 years old and the feeling of invincibility that seems to come with that age. But these girls have an extra level of confidence that forged during the hundreds (probably more like thousands) of hours they spent sweating and practicing and beat themselves up to become the amazing athletes they are.

That's why when I ask them about their plans for the future, rarely do I get a boring answer that hems and haws around the question. Nope, these girls know they are going to do big things. Things like performing plastic surgery, earning a spot on the most famous cheer squad in the world, taking over the music industry, or anchoring the nightly news. For senior Rutgers dancer Cassie, her goal is dance beside Beyonce on stage. I don't know a ton about the dance world, but I'm thinking that is a pretty tough gig to land.

If I've learned anything from this blog it's that I should absolutely not disregard the Communications major. These girls end up doing what they put their minds to. When she's not working on her dreams, Cassie loves to hit the gym and then go home and bake. I usually just eat cookies and skip the gym, which is why I'll never dance with Beyonce.

For at least another year, however, we get to enjoy Cassie as she dances in front of thousands of Rutgers fans and basks in the school spirit that makes her love her school so much. I guess Beyonce is just going to have to wait a year!

You can follow Cassie's journey on her Twitter or Instagram accounts!

Why Do the Northwestern Cheerleaders Give Themselves Bunny Ears?

This is now the 2nd picture I've seen of the Northwestern University cheerleaders giving themselves some sort of ears. The first picture (in this post) shows them going with the double ears. But today's picture is more of the traditional bunny ears kind of picture.

So what the hell is going on here? Are they supposed to look like wildcats? Is this a common Northwestern thing? Or, in the alternate, are they just trying to be silly? Because Lord knows college cheerleaders tend to have a very silly side!

Pitt Cheerleaders Throw Off a Little Attitude

You all should know by now that I really enjoy pictures where the cheerleaders are showing off a little attitude. We have posted pictures of cheerleaders and dancers from North Carolina, Missouri State, Utah, Houston, and Utah State all dropping a little extra attitude (whether real or fake) for the camera.

Today a trio of Pitt cheerleaders get in on the act. I think these Panthers can absolutely hold their own against any of the other 'tude dropping hotties we've posted in the past.

We Don't Feature the UCONN Cheerleaders & Dancers Enough

There are plenty of squads that deserve more air time on College Cheerleader Heaven, but one of the more under-represented squads (in my eyes at least) is the UCONN Huskies. For a school their size, they just haven't been on our pages enough.

And I'm not sure why that is. It's certainly not like they aren't hot enough. That's definitely not the problem. Maybe it's the high-waisted shorts the dance team wears. I really don't like those, so it's possible I have an undiagnosed bias against them. That is something I am going to have to be aware of in the future.

TCU's Jordan is a Big Baseball Fan

There aren't too many people out there that are big fans of college baseball. Sure people get excited as the College World Series rolls around, but most people couldn't name 5 of the Top 20 teams at any point during the season.

TCU fans, on the other hand, seem to be buying into college baseball big time. I can only assume it's because TCU cheerleaders like Jordan are at the game making things a bit more exciting than usual. So it only makes sense that Jordan's SI Cheerleader of the Week feature would have a bit of a baseball theme to it. Well done Sports Illustrated, well done.

See the rest of Jordan's feature here. As always, photo credits to Yeung Photography.

Rutgers Dance Team Tryout Cheer Selfie

I realize that tryout season is basically over, but that doesn't mean we can't reminisce on this beautiful Cheer Selfie Saturday. After all, tryout season is a magical time and should be celebrated year round.

So today we're throwing it back to the Rutgers Dance Team tryouts with our pal Cassidy snapping a wonderful cheer selfie for us. Go Scarlet Knights!

The Stanford Dollies Always Have the Best Uniforms

I'm sure some will disagree with me, but I think the Stanford Dollies have some of the best uniforms in all of college sports. They always have a very unique and retro vibe to their look (even when they aren't rocking their official throwback unis).

So props to the Dollies for keeping it original and classy!

Hat tip to bulgo125 for the last picture!

I'm Ready for the Arizona State Cheerleaders to be Back on the Field

The summer months can be a lonely time for college cheerleading blogger. There really isn't a ton going on in the college cheer world, so I have to be creative about the types of posts we do here.

But the whole time I'm just counting down the days until squads like the Arizona State cheerleaders return to the sidelines and life becomes livable again!

I Love this Auburn Dance Overhead Cheer Circle

You guys should, by now, know how much I love a good Overhead Cheer Circle and how much I love sparkly things. So when the Auburn dancers combined those two things in one picture, it is safe to say I was smitten!

The Michigan State Dancers Take Their Group Photos in the Woods

I know that Michigan is a beautiful state full of wilderness and wonder. But I still always think of Detroit when I think about Michigan. And I think that is natural for someone that's never been to the state.

But after seeing this picture of the Michigan State dance team posing in a very serene wooded location, I think I'm going to have to re-evaluate my mindset when it comes to Michigan. After all, this is a much better mental picture of a state than a dying city!

The Most Adorable Clemson Cheerleader Picture You Will Ever See!

The Clemson cheerleaders and dancers have been featured on College Cheerleader Heaven 40 times before today. And nowhere in any of these 40 posts are you going to find a picture as adorable as this one. It cannot be done.

But if someone is willing to try, I'm all for being proven wrong!

The Kansas State Classy Cats Take on Cheer Selfie Saturday

I love a good cheer or dance squad nickname (which is one of the reasons I love the Missouri State Sugar Bears so much). So even though I may not be a huge fan of the Kansas State athletic department, I will always like the Classy Cats dance squad.

After all, it was the Classy Cats that brought our pal Claire into our lives!

Washington Huskies' Cheerleader Nikki Gets a Sports Illustrated Feature

I've long had an affinity for the Washington Huskies cheerleaders. Part of is the fact that they are routinely gorgeous, but I'm guessing another key factor is the plethora of great pictures our pal bulgo125 has provided to us over the years.

This time, however, our pictures are coming from a different source as the good people at Yeung Photography headed to Seattle to shoot pictures for Nikki's SI Cheerleader of the Week feature. And, as always, they did a great job capturing this Pacific Northwest darling in all her glory!

See the rest of Nikki's feature here.

The Boise State Cheerleaders Rock!

I got an email from a recently graduated Boise State cheerleader last week, and she was nice enough to serve up some pictures of her and her cheer friends. I just love it when cheerleaders send me pictures, so if you have anything to share please don't be shy. Hit the "Email Me" button on the side bar and get your squad featured on College Cheer Heaven!
