The Washington Huskies Cheerleaders Hit Another SI Cheerleader of the Week Feature Out of the Park

The Washington Huskies cheerleaders have had a fair number of bites at the SI Cheerleader of the Week apple. I haven't done the research, but I can't imagine there are many schools that have more SI features than the Huskies. Of course, when you bring the thunder in every feature (like Nikki, Kendall, and Jenna did) , of course they are going to come back your direction.

The latest Huskie cheerleader to crush her feature is Brittany. I mean, she pulled out a one-handed hand stand for the love of God. How do you not love her for that alone?

See the rest of Brittany's feature here. Photo credit to Yeung Photography.

Eastern Washington's Football Season Came to an End this Weekend

One of my favorite FCS cheer squads cheered at its final football of the season this weekend. For the first time in 6 seasons the Eastern Washington cheerleaders won't be heading to the FCS playoffs. But that sure as hell doesn't mean we're going to stop featuring them here on College Cheer Heaven.

We might even start featuring them more if they keep sending us great pictures like these!

Week 12 Winners: Michigan State Spartans

Even with all these upsets in Week 12 of the college football season, it's not hard to pick out the biggest upset of the weekend. Michigan State snapped Ohio State's 23-game winning streak on a last second field goal after leading for all of ZERO seconds of the game. That's the second time they've done that this season.

Sounds like a recipe for a Big Ten title if you ask me!

Week 12 Winners: Baylor Bears

Baylor is just a machine. It's about as simple as that. It doesn't matter who they have under center, they are going to score a bunch of points against just about everyone. The Baylor Spirit Squad is pretty much the same way. It doesn't matter who graduates, they are going to fill that slot with another adorable Texas girl next year.

That's how dynasties are born!

Week 12 Winners: UCLA Bruins

Man, UCLA is a conundrum this year. Of course, I guess that's what happens when you have a true freshman starting quarterback. There are going to be ups and downs, even though he seems to have been pretty solid for the majority of the season. But at least they sprang this one last upset (with a chance at another next week) to give me a chance to sing the praises of their cheerleaders one more time.

Week 12 Winners: Ole Miss Rebels

Did the Ole Miss Rebels sign Les Miles pink slip with their upset of LSU this weekend? It seems crazy to think so, but there plenty of rumblings that the powers that be in Baton Rouge want the Mad Hatter out sooner rather than later. They're even willing to pay his $2.5 million buyout.

All this for a loss to Ole Miss? Seems a bit harsh.

Week 12 Winners: UCONN Huskies

I have to admit, I did not see this one coming. Houston had just been rolling people all season, and UCONN was having a decent if not unspectacular season. But good for the Huskies. Not only did they become bowl eligible for the first time in 5 years, but they also gave me yet another chance to feature their dance squad on College Cheer Heaven. And for that we are all very grateful!

Week 12 Winners: Temple Owls

The Temple Diamond Gems have to be stoked about their football team's magical season. Not only did they beat Penn State for the first time since the FDR administration, but they are one win away from a division title and a chance to play for the AAC crown.

And while all of that is great, there is one more piece of this season that makes things just a little bit more magical. A good football team means more time here on College Cheer Heaven. Isn't that what every college cheerleader and dancer is striving for anyway?

I Love the East Carolina Dancers' Tribute to Veterans

The East Carolina dancers did a hell of a job representing our country and honoring our military veterans at a recent home football game. Not even the rain could dampen the celebration.

And lets not forget to mention the American flag inspired outfits. Those need to become a staple in the squads uniform rotation.

It's About Time Cheer Selfie Saturday Hit Up Delaware

I've never been to Delaware before, but I'm hoping to plan a road trip up there this summer. My goal is attend the Firefly Music Festival up there in June. While I would get to see a ton of great bands while in "The First State," I probably wouldn't have a chance to catch the Delaware dance team in action. Which is a damn shame, honestly, and might be a dealbreaker for the entire trip!

Game of the Week Cheerleader Preview: (9) Michigan State v. (3) Ohio State

It's a battle for Big Ten supremacy in Columbus this weekend (sorry Iowa, but no one thinks you have a prayer of winning this conference). The winner should be headed for the conference title game and (potentially) a spot in the College Football Playoff. That is a lot on the line.

Luckily we have the only preview of this giant match-up you could possibly need. We've got the Michigan State cheerleaders and the Ohio State dance team. What more could you ever need to get ready for the biggest game of the weekend?

The USF SunDolls Broke Out Their Cowboy Boots This Week

I love it when college cheerleaders and dancers break out their cowboy boots on the sidelines. It might be a minor thing, but to me it adds just a special little touch that can be lacking some times. I also love the USF SunDolls.

So when the SunDolls rocked their cowboy boots this past weekend it was pretty much a match made in heaven!

Sports Illustrated Travels to Blacksburg to Meet Nina

The Sports Illustrated Cheerleader of the Week has leaned heavily towards the pro cheerleaders in the last few weeks, but they did take a detour to Blacksburg to introduce us to Virginia Tech dancer Nina. I've always had an affinity for the name Nina for some reason. I've never actually known anyone named Nina, but that's not really the point.

Anyway, the Hokies have to replace Frank Beamer next year, but at least they will still have the Hokie dancers on the sidelines to bring them some kind of sense of normalcy.

Check out the rest of Nina's feature here. Photo credit to Yeung Photography.

Week 11 Winners: Oklahoma Sooners

Apparently the Sooners didn't appreciate me questioning their place in the Big 12 rankings in our Game of the Week cheerleader preview on Friday afternoon. That's cool. As long as they give me more reasons to feature their cheerleaders, I don't really care about the specifics.

Week 11 Winners: Oregon Ducks

See how this works? I talk about missing the fact that the Oregon Ducks are irrelevant this season in a Cheer Selfie Saturday post and they turn around and beat the 7th ranked team in the country. It's just that easy!

Week 11 Winners: Arkansas Razorbacks

The Arkansas Razorbacks have made the Weekly Winners feature two weeks in a row now. I keep telling they are better than you think. They made LSU look fairly average this week. I feel bad for whoever they play next week.

Week 11 Winners: Arizona Wildcats

It may have taken a couple of over time periods to do it, but Arizona finally got the big win they have been hunting for all season. They also probably helped knock the Pac 12 out of the College Football Playoff, but that is kind of beside the point.

Week 11 Winners: Washington State Cougars

Well this was a wild game. UCLA scored on a 37-yard quarterback scramble with barely over a minute left in the game to take the lead only watch the Cougars score with 3 seconds left to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Don't look now, but Washington State is 7-3 with 2 very winnable games left on the schedule. Mike Leach might win 10 games in Pullman this year. Remember back in July when asked if this was the year Washington State breaks through? Yeah, I didn't either, but apparently I'm a genius.

Week 11 Winners: Houston Cougars

If I had told you at the beginning of the year that the Houston Cougars would be one of the last five remaining unbeaten teams after week 11 of the college football season I'm pretty sure you would have laughed me out of the room. But after an epic comeback with a 2nd string redshirt freshman quarterback over Memphis this weekend, that is exactly where we sit.

Now Houston looks towards a New Year's Day bowl game. And probably replacing their brand new coach after only one season.

Week 11 Winners: South Florida Bulls

This was a tough game for me because both schools feature dance squads that I absolutely love. But there can only be one winner, and this time it was the USF SunDolls! But at least the Temple Diamond Gems will have a great shot at the AAC Championship Game.

I Hate That Oregon Isn't Relevant This Season

The Oregon Ducks have been sitting at or near the top of the college football heap for so long now that it's hard to remember what it was like when Gang Green sucked. Then the 2015 college football season rolled around and the Ducks absolutely imploded. I'm not even sure how it happened so fast.

One thing I am sure about: the Ducks cheerleaders are still at the top of the college cheerleader heap. And if this Cheer Selfie Saturday pictures is any indication, they don't show any signs of slowing down any time soon!

Game of the Week Cheerleader Preview: Oklahoma v. Baylor

It's still weird to see the Oklahoma Sooners ranked behind conference rivals like TCU and Baylor on a regular basis. There was a time not that long ago that even contemplating such a thing could get you placed on a 48 hour mental health hold in the county jail.

But such is the world we live in. Black is white, white is black and Baylor is a better football program than Oklahoma. There's a statement our dads never thought they would read without a hint of sarcasm.

Pitt State Cheerleaders Think Their Team is #1

I don't spend a ton of time perusing the Division II football scores and standings, but I do know that Pittsburg State is usually a pretty solid squad. So while I don't know if these Pitt State cheerleaders are correct in their assessment of their football team or not, I'm sure they're not too far off.

Meet the Entire 2015-2016 Miami Hurricanettes Squad

We have been spending a lot of time covering the Miami Hurricanettes and Sunsations in the last couple of months. Whether we're talking about them throwing up sorority signs on the reg or highlighting Sunsations dancer Briege, our time in Coral Gables has been quite productive.

Which is precisely why we thought it would be a great idea to introduce you to the entire 2015-2016 Miami Hurricanettes squad. I mean, really, there's no reason we shouldn't meet each and every one of these South Florida beauties! Hell, even their coach is a smokeshow!

I Can't Decide If She's Terrified or Excited

I absolutely love this cheer selfie of a Vanderbilt dancer and Mizzou's Truman the Tiger. She is either really excited to snap a selfie with Truman or really terrified that Truman photobombed her selfie. I just can't decide which.

The crowd control lady in the background is just straight up annoyed. That much I'm sure of.

Week 10 Winners: Alabama Crimson Tide

If it weren't for one big mis-step early in the season, there is no way we wouldn't be talking about the Alabama Crimson Tide as the best team in college football. I know they got whooped down in Oxford. But all they've done since is cut through the rest of the SEC like a hot knife through butter on their way back to their rightful spot in the Top 3.

Week 10 Winners: Nebraska Cornhuskers

After losing 6 games by a combined total of 23 points, the Nebraska Cornhuskers finally ended up on the right side of a wild end-of-the-game comeback. Sure it was fairly controversial, but how many games don't have a controversial touchdown or two these days. The end result is a Nebraska win and a spot in the Weekly Winners feature!

Week 10 Winner: Oklahoma State Cowboys

It has been a tumultuous couple of weeks in Stillwater since the homecoming tragedy that took four lives and just keeps getting weirder by the moment. But the Cowboys have done all they can to aid the healing by continuing to win. And this weekend they got their biggest win yet over a TCU squad that had been living precariously close to the edge all season.
