The Illinois Dancers Were Almost Very Disappointed this Weekend

Can you imagine the disappointment that would have covered Champaign if their Illini had lost to Youngstown State at home on Saturday? It's bad enough they had to score 21 points in the 4th quarter to secure a come from behind win. Honestly, how could the Illini players live with themselves after putting this lovely Illinois dancers through such a rough time on Saturday?

Week 1 Winners: Texas A&M Aggies

If you remember back to my Game of the Week post from last Thursday, I may have questioned how Texas A&M was even ranked coming into the season based on everything they had lost. I am obviously an idiot.

Holy crap the Aggies looked great as they dismantled South Carolina. And just like his predecessor, Kenny Hill exploded onto the college football scene in extremely exciting fashion. Could be another magical year in College Station.

Our First Look at Baylor

Today is our first chance to see Baylor this year and start to judge whether or not they are a legitimate contender to make the playoff. I'm not sure I buy it, but I'll be watching anyway. Mostly because this is also our first chance to see the Baylor cheerleaders and dancers!

Game of the Week Cheerleader Preview: (14) Wisconsin v. (13) LSU

Yes, I realize this is the 2nd Game of the Week today (and the 5th of the week), but this is a big week. College football is FINALLY back and needs to be celebrated.

Not to mention the fact that this is a HUGE game. One of these teams could really get things moving towards a playoff spot with a win today. Sure LSU still has to most likely win the SEC and Wisconsin would probably have to run the table, but it's a significant first step. The committee is going to love a high level non-conference win when it comes to selection day.

Plus, do you really need a good reason to get a 2nd set of cheerleaders today? Didn't think so.

Game of the Week Cheerleader Preview: (16) Clemson v. (12) Georgia

This match-up of college football powerhouses is going to look a lot different than it did last year. Both squads are going to be breaking in new quarterbacks after the departure of arguably the best QB in program history. That alone is going to be a huge change since both Taj Boyd and Aaron Murray were starting at their respective schools for what seemed like 7 years.

What will not change is the amount of talent on the sidelines. Both Clemson and Georgia are stacked in the cheerleader/dancer department. Honestly, this is going to be one of the best Game of the Week Cheerleader Previews of the season! And the game will probably be good too.

Game of the Day Cheerleader Preview: Jacksonville State v. (8) Michigan State

So this game might not be a barn-burner of a match-up, but it's the first week of the season and I'm just ready to see any college football I can find. Let's not forget, Jacksonville State knocked off Ole Miss to start the 2010 football season.

Not that I'm expecting them to beat Michigan State tonight. The Spartans are way too good for that. But this does give me a chance to feature a couple more cheer squads on a glorious Friday morning!

Game of the Day: (21) Texas A&M v. (9) South Carolina

This is EXACTLY how you kick off the SEC Network. I realize the network has been on air for a couple of weeks now, but this is the real kick-off. Thursday night football with 2 ranked teams on the field? It doesn't get much better than that.

I have to say, though, I'm a little curious as to how Texas A&M is ranked to start the season. They lost a TON of talent last year, and honestly, they weren't that amazing last year. That being said, I'm really hoping they pull off the upset and put South Carolina behind the 8-ball in the SEC East from the very beginning.

It's going to be a great year, folks. Tonight is just the beginning. Pace yourselves!

Game of the Day Cheerleader Preview: Abilene Christian v. Georgia State

I don't typically spend a ton of time talking about teams from the Southland and Sun Belt conferences, but when you are playing the first FBS football game of the season, then you get a shout-out on College Cheerleader Heaven.

So let's all train our eyes on the Abilene Christian - Georgia State game tonight as an appetizer for what is, hopefully, a great weekend of college football.

Arkansas Fans Really Think They are Going to be Good This Season

I'm starting to learn that Arkansas fans are a little bit delusional. If you listen to a typical Hawg fan, they are pretty convinced that Bret Bielema is going to turn things completely around in Fayeteville this year. I'm not sure what they are basing that on, but good for them.

One thing I do know; the Arkansas cheerleader and dancer game is going to be as strong as ever on the sidelines. Even if the football fails to reach a bowl again (which I think they will), the show on the sidelines is going to be enough to distract from the play on the field.

The Washington Cheerleaders Get to Start the Year in Hawaii

So who is the scheduling genius at Washington that got Hawaii at the front of the Huskies schedule this year? Absolute freakin' genius. Prepare yourselves, beaches of Honolulu, the Washington cheerleaders and dancers are coming for you!

Thanks to Scott Foster for the pics!

What Do You Think of These North Carolina T-Shirts?

I'm not usually a fan of cheer squads that wear t-shirts as part of their uniforms, but these North Carolina dancers have me rethinking my stance. Thoughts?

The Oklahoma Cheerleaders are Preparing for a National Title

Everyone seems to think that Oklahoma is going to end up in the first ever college football playoff. I'm not sure I buy that thinking, but I would enjoy seeing the Sooners' cheerleaders and dancers on the sidelines during the playoffs, so I guess it wouldn't be all bad.

Does Stanford Have Enough to Knock Off Oregon This Year?

I know that everyone is in love with Oregon (and the Oregon cheerleaders) this year, but don't sleep on Stanford. I think they have a real shot to win the Pac 12. Plus, it's not like their cheerleaders and dancers are too shabby in their own right!

Hat tip to bulgo125 for the pics.

I Love this Leggy FIU Cheerleader

You don't see a whole lot of college cheerleaders with legs as long as this FIU Panther. I wonder if that makes cheering easier or harder for her.

Boise State Cheerleaders Rocking Blue Mustaches

Not even big, fake blue mustaches can take away from the hotness of the Boise State cheerleaders. That's when you know you have a top notch cheer squad!

The Alabama Dancers Have Great Uniforms

There isn't anything incredibly special about these Alabama uniforms, I guess, but I still really dig them. I just can't put my finger on the reason.

Florida State Sits Atop the Preseason AP Top 25

While the AP poll may be fairly worthless these days, people still debate the damn thing for hours. At least this year I think the voters got the top spot right. It's pretty hard to argue with the reigning Heisman Trophy winner leading the reigning national champion. Plus, let's not forget about the Florida State cheerleaders. They're worth a few votes by themselves!
