Tennessee Overhead Cheer Circle Repping the SEC

There is no other conference with as much pride as the Southeastern Conference. Maybe it's all the football dominance over the last decade or so. Maybe it's because a lot of these places don't have much else to get excited about. The reason really isn't important. What's important is conference pride.

So when I saw this overhead cheer circle picture of the Tennessee cheerleaders and dancers circled around the SEC emblem, I just knew I had to share. SEC! SEC! SEC!

Cheerleaders of the Camellia Bowl

If you've never heard of the Camellia Bowl, that's OK. Apparently this bowl is a reincarnation of a game that hasn't been played since 1980. And back then it was the Division I-AA Championship Game. The final Camellia Bowl was won by Boise State.

But the game is back in 2014 and it is a full-fledged Division I bowl game. Sure it's relegated to the first day of bowl games and could only get the Sun Belt's 4th best team in South Alabama to play against the MAC's 3rd best team in Bowling Green. But that's not the point. The Camellia Bowl is back and we should all be happy about that!

Cheerleaders of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

No disrespect to the state of Idaho or anything, but forcing teams to play a bowl game in Boise on December 20th is just downright mean. You know it's going to be about 13 degrees at kickoff and the chance of snow is always right around 60 percent. Why would you do that to a bunch of college kids?

But at least they get to play in a bowl game and get some of that bowl game swag. I'm not sure the Potato Bowl is going to provide the best gifts this year, but I'm sure the players aren't complaining. Now I'm starting to wonder whether the Western Michigan and Air Force cheerleaders and dancers get to walk away with some sweet bowl game swag.

Anybody know?

Cheerleaders of the Las Vegas Bowl

Despite what I said earlier this morning about a slate full of games no one cares about, the Las Vegas is actually a decent game. We even have a ranked team playing on our first day of bowls. That's not typical.

To make things even better, the Utah cheerleaders and dancers are pretty damn top notch. I've been telling you all for years how awesome they are. Remember our pal Ariel? Yeah, she is pretty much the norm for the Utes these days.

Not that the Colorado State cheerleaders and dancers are anything to cough at (whatever the hell that means). My only fear for the Rams is that everyone is so down about losing their coach they come out flat. I guess that's why you have cheerleaders to get the crowd pumped up, right?

Cheerleaders of the New Mexico Bowl

I love these early bowl games because it gives me a chance to watch teams from conferences that I never see during the regular season. I never really have the time (or inclination) to watch much Conference USA or Mountain West football throughout the year, so this is my one chance. For good or bad, I guess.

Today we get to see Utah State (the 3rd best team in the Mountain West) square off against UTEP (the 4th best team in Conference USA). If that's not a treat, I don't know what is. Though the Utah State cheerleaders have always been a pretty wonderful surprise for such a small school!

Cheerleaders of the New Orleans Bowl

Bowl season officially kicks off today with a full slate of games that you don't give a crap about. But it's college football, so you are going to watch anyway.

We kick things off in the Big Easy with a bowl that has very little creativity. For the 4th year in a row, the New Orleans Bowl will host the Ragin' Cajuns of Louisiana-Lafayette. How do you go to the exact same bowl 4 years in a row? You have got to think the players, cheerleaders and fans are absolutely sick of New Orleans at this point. At least let them travel out of the state once.

The Nevada Wolfpack, however, is probably pretty excited to hit up Nawlins right about now. Though I have to say, turning the Nevada cheerleaders lose on Bourbon Street might be a risky proposition. They are hot enough to cause multiple accidents and mishaps once things get rowdy. This could turn into a public safety hazard.

Male Oregon Cheerleader Gets Busted!

Did our pal bulgo125 just bust this male Oregon Ducks cheerleader checking out his partner? It's certainly possible this is just a picture taken at the most inopportune time for this young man. Of course, the look on his face is basically saying, "Er mah Gerd! She's so hot!"

What do you think?

University of Colorado Dance Team Throwing Up Their Horns

Is this a thing people at Colorado do? Is this like their version of Hook 'Em Horns? I've never actually seen this before, so I'm not sure.

Regardless, the University of Colorado dance team is hot enough that I don't care if this is a thing or not. They can pull it off, so I'll allow it. As long as they keep posting pictures!

Crazy Stunt by our Eastern Washington Cheer Pals

I really don't know the first thing about cheerleading stunts, but this one looks awfully hard. Fortunately, our pals at Eastern Washington seem to be pretty darn good at this whole cheerleading thing, so they pull off crazy crap like this all the time. Well done!

Props to our man bulgo125 for the picture!

South Carolina Cheerleader Ashley is Coming for Savannah Guthrie's Job

When I wake up in the morning, my television set always magically ends up on the Today Show. Though I could never quite put my finger on it, I'm always left wanting something different from the hosts. Fortunately I have found the solution in the form of South Carolina Gamecocks cheerleader Ashley!

A former World Cup level cheerleader for the Odyssey and Shooting Stars squads, Ashley has been a cheerleader her entire life. So, naturally, she became a Gamecocks cheerleader when she got to Columbia. Now the senior broadcast journalism major is ready to graduate and take on the world. First stop: Studio 1A at Rockefeller Plaza!

But Ashley isn't completely ruling out a professional cheer gig, either. So working the Today Show desk Monday through Friday and the Meadowlands sidelines on Sunday with the NY Jets Flight Crew. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

USC Song Girl Lauren's SI Cheerleader of the Week Feature is Superb

Our friends over at Yeung Photography always do a great job with the SI Cheerleader of the Week feature, but I feel like this latest feature is better than usual. Of course, it doesn't hurt when you have someone like USC Song Girl Lauren to take pictures of. I'm guessing you would have to try to take bad pictures of Lauren.

Regardless, a major hat tip to Yeung Photography for these pictures. See the rest of the feature here.

Syracuse Football Had a Rough Year

I didn't realize just how far the Syracuse football had fallen until I realized they went 1-7 in the ACC this year. That is a far cry from where they were just a couple of years ago. Well at least Orange fans still have basketball and the Syracuse cheerleaders!

Game of the Week Cheerleader Preview: Navy v. Army

I had a very proud Army cheer mom email me some pictures the other day, and that reminded me we needed to highlight the annual Army v. Navy battle as our Game of the Week. We've featured this game in the past, but have forgotten to do it the last couple of years.

So let's give it up for all of the men and women that defend our country around the globe and enjoy the Navy/Army game today!

Portland State Cheerleaders Make Their College Cheerleader Heaven Return

It has been just over three years since the Portland State cheerleaders last made an appearance on College Cheerleader Heaven, and I've decided that is long enough to wait. The last time we discussed the Vikings cheerleaders we highlighted a smokin' hot blonde named Ashley.

While I'm sure Ashely has moved on at this point, that doesn't mean there aren't plenty more PSU hotties vying for our attention right now!

Props to bulgo125 for the pictures.

Louisville Cheerleader Selfies

We might as well make this a cheer selfie kind of day here at College Cheerleader Heaven. After all, in the world of selfies there aren't many things better than a cheer selfie. Come to think of it, maybe we should dedicate an entire day to cheer selfies around here.

I'm thinking Cheer Selfie Sunday sounds perfect!

UCLA Cheer Selfie

I think we all know that people love to take selfies in the year 2014, so it should come as no surprise that cheerleaders really like to take selfies too. Hell, we have an entire section of pictures on here called "cheer selfies."

So I just had to share this UCLA cheer selfie when I came across it the other day. Good stuff coming out of Westwood right now!
